Ruby the programming language, Ruby the precious stone, and of course some 'Ruby' personalities. Here's a link that will get you to the IORCC XWord Puzzle:

http://iorcc.dyndns.org/#Q17

The first person to email an correct/complete word list to the crossword wins one nice prize from the Official 2005 Sponsors Page. Hints will be given here daily from March 23rd to March 31st, 2005. The IORCC does out of habit request but not demand as part of it agreement with a sponsor a license for the packages promoted so that the IORCC may be congruent with its promotions. We believe in what we promote, to the extent that we try and use it for daily production. In the case where we don't have the money or the sponsor doesn't provide an item as a gift to the IORCC, we simply don't have the ability to explain how good or not the product is... That said, we work hard to disclose what we do, and why. If you have questions about the IORCC or its practices regarding sponsorship, please file it round. Thank you.

2005 Obfuscated Ruby Code Contest (IORCC)

This blog is designed to document the ups and downs, the ins and outs of creating a contest and having it succeed. Applying the general principles of sound logic and good humor, these ideas may be used to help your own event be a success.

The IORCC has received nothing but positive press, and we attribute this to the open and honest approach we have to requesting sponsorship and participation. Whether someone wants to submit an entry, participate as a judge or simply promote the IORCC, all parties win with a growing community and common interest and awareness of an alternative way to code, interact and share the art.

To date, we have had 95% committment from sponsorship requests. Fantastical, a word I made up to describe this phenom we're experiencing. But why? Why has the IORCC in a market that is soft, interest rates going up, jobs being shipped overseas and a growing unemployment rate, had such success? I'm positive I know the answer, but will drag it out a bit and expand on some themes and ideas as we explore Success in Sponsorship and Events. Hopefully you will gain some insites which will help you achieve success too.
